Once again, Social Security's list of what names were popular in what years came to my character's rescue. Unfortunately... the lists only go back to 1880s, and Celestine would have been born at least a decade, if not several, before that. Still, I figure that fads in names would have moved slower back then (a lot of the names on the 1880 list were in similar places on the 1890 list I've referenced before), and I tend to want ones a little less common anyway. Cross-referenced BabyNames.com to check the meanings of things... and I'm saving my list of potentials, because there were some really sweet and pretty ones I was considering. (Who knows, I may wind up switching later on. AFTER November.)
I also did some research on corrupted image files - I feel like I've found a work-around of some sort before, and a quick google confirmed a few different hunches I had. Whether I'm going to let Kimber off easy, or have to bash her way through fixing some hex code, I haven't decided yet. ;) Poor girl.
I have no idea if she should be more or less injured than she is. Looking at the ceiling in my room, it's probably eight feet or so. Two floors is only sixteen or seventeen feet then, possibly a smidge less (older houses often have lower ceilings, people having been generally shorter - I'm not sure if that applies to houses from the 1800s, but I know it does for 1700s). I have never fallen from a distance like that, but, I feel like boys jump off of house roofs that must be at least eight feet without any real damage, so sixteen shouldn't be impossible. But that's a tougher question to google, I'll sort that out while in Revision Hell someday.
