So, a full day of furniture shopping + evening of furniture building, followed by a full day of furniture building + evening of drinking and movie, followed by a day of furniture building + wifi crankiness...
Today was the first in three days I've come anywhere near the novel. aarg. x_x [note: The NaNo wordcounter widget has been broken for several days - there should only be like three angry red boxes so far!]
On the bright side, tonight's giant installment was written while sitting on MY NEW COUCH WOOOO! In my now-painted living room. With some new cabinets sort-of attached to the wall. (They still haven't fallen! woo!!!)
Somehow, I'm now only 1300ish words behind. I threw out an extra thousand or so tonight, without too much trouble, and the next few chunks will also involve Kimber chatting with townspeople, which always makes the wordcount climb without too much pain. Thank freaking goodness.
I should also get her back to nosing around the garden at some point, which will up wordcount if I can get my head far enough into the story to get some reasonable description going.
If.
Why does November ALWAYS bring some kind of giant unexpected/unplanned stressful thing? Furniture should not have been so stressful, but... a) spending BIG $$. probably the most the husband and I have spent at one go yet. b) decisions on things we knew very little about. c) trying to do things we've never done before, and both getting frustrated at how little the other knows as well as how little the self knows. d) if I'd had enough upper-body strength to hold a cabinet above my head for more than a minute at a time, things would have been much smoother. maybe.
Done ranting. Feeling better, now that I bashed my laptop into connecting to the wifi which got reset today.
It's so bedtime. I have no idea what I even need to do tomorrow, I refuse to think about it now!
